Reference Management

JPT uses an author–date citation style with journal-specific formatting requirements. Detailed instructions and examples are provided in the Author Guidelines.

Authors are encouraged to use reference-management software, such as Mendeley, to organize references and maintain consistency between in-text citations and the reference list. The use of any particular software is not mandatory. Automatically generated citations and references must be checked and adjusted to meet JPT’s requirements. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of author names, publication years, titles, source details, and DOI links.

Every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and every reference-list entry must be cited in the text, except personal communications, which are cited in the text only. References must be arranged alphabetically. Works with the same author or author group and publication year must be distinguished using lowercase letters after the year, such as 2026a and 2026b. Authors must verify references against the original sources and must not include fabricated references or cite sources they have not consulted.
