Open Access Policy
Open Access Principle
The JPT provides immediate open access to all published content. Articles are freely available through the journal website without subscription requirements or an embargo period. JPT supports open access to promote the dissemination, visibility, accessibility, and responsible use of scholarly research.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain the copyright to their work. All articles published by JPT are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Under this license, readers may read, download, copy, share, distribute, print, search, link to, adapt, translate, and build upon published articles for noncommercial purposes, provided that:
- appropriate credit is given to the authors;
- JPT is acknowledged as the original place of publication;
- a link to the license is provided; and
- any changes made to the original work are clearly indicated.
Third-party material is covered by the article’s license unless otherwise indicated in a credit line. Separate permission may be required for material that is excluded from the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

Relationship to Publication Charges
Open access is an access model and is separate from editorial decision-making. The payment, nonpayment, or waiver of a submission fee or Article Processing Charge has no influence on editorial screening, peer review, acceptance, rejection, correction, or retraction. Publication charges and waivers are governed by JPT’s separate Publication Charges policy.
Version of Record
The final article published on the JPT website is the official Version of Record. When an article is corrected, retracted, or otherwise updated, the article and the relevant notice will be clearly marked and linked so that readers can identify its current publication status.
Archiving and Repository Deposit
Long-term digital preservation, author self-archiving, and repository deposit are governed by JPT’s Archiving and Repository Policy.
