Right and License

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright to their articles. Publication in the JPT, does not transfer copyright ownership to the journal or publisher.

2. License to Publish

Upon acceptance, authors grant JPT a nonexclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and preserve the article, identify JPT as its original place of journal publication, and make it available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).  This permission includes the editorial and technical processing necessary for publication, dissemination, indexing, and long-term preservation. Substantive changes to the scientific content require author approval.

3. Public License and User Rights

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). The license permits users to copy, share, redistribute, adapt, translate, and build upon the licensed material for noncommercial purposes, provided that they:

• Give appropriate credit to the authors and acknowledge JPT as the original place of publication.
• Provide a link to the license and, where practicable, the original article.
• Indicate whether changes have been made.
• Do not imply endorsement by the authors or JPT.
• Do not impose legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

The license remains effective for users who comply with its terms. Uses beyond the license, including commercial reuse, require separate permission from the relevant rights holder unless otherwise permitted by applicable law.

4. Authors’ Warranties and Permissions

Authors confirm that they have the rights and authority necessary to submit the manuscript and authorize its publication under the stated license. The manuscript must comply with JPT’s requirements concerning originality, authorship, prior publication, and simultaneous submission.

Authors must obtain any necessary permissions for third-party material and provide appropriate attribution and credit lines. Earlier dissemination as a thesis, conference abstract, institutional report, or preprint must be disclosed in accordance with JPT’s publication policies.

5. Third-Party Material

Third-party material is included under the article’s license unless a credit line states otherwise. Material excluded from the license may require separate permission from its rights holder. Authors must ensure that any permissions obtained are compatible with the intended publication and clearly identify applicable restrictions.

6. Rights Retained by Authors

Authors may reuse their own work in teaching, presentations, books, and subsequent scholarly works and may deposit permitted versions in repositories. Reuse must acknowledge the original JPT publication where applicable and respect any third-party rights. Version-specific deposit requirements are provided in JPT’s Archiving and Repository Policy.

7. Coauthorship and Authorization

The corresponding author must ensure that all coauthors approve the submission, final manuscript, and publication under the stated license. The corresponding author confirms that they are authorized to communicate these approvals to JPT. Detailed requirements are provided in JPT’s Authorship policy.

8. Royalties and Publication Charges

JPT does not pay authors royalties or remuneration for publishing their articles. This provision does not transfer copyright ownership or waive rights beyond the permissions expressly granted under this policy. Publication fees and waivers are governed separately by JPT’s Publication charge policy.

9. License Continuity and Publication Status

Permissions granted under CC BY-NC 4.0 cannot be revoked for users who comply with the license terms. Corrections, Expressions of Concern, retractions, and exceptional removal of content are governed by JPT’s Correction and Retraction Policy. These editorial actions do not, by themselves, revoke permissions already granted to users who comply with the license.
