Initial evaluation
All submitted manuscripts are read and evaluated by the editor firstly at a maximum of 2 weeks. Rejected at this stage will happen due to out of scope, insufficiently original, or has serious scientific flaws. The editors also do a plagiarism check at the same time. Manuscripts considered suitable and qualified will be sent to two or more reviewers who are experts in that field.
Peer review
JPT follows a double-blind peer review, the manuscript will be reviewed by at least 2 reviewers. The editor will contact selected reviewers based on the manuscript submitted. The time allocated to review is 4 to 6 weeks. Reviewers will be given access to the submission file after agreeing to review. The editor provides and sends reviewers some materials, including a review form.
Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript, particularly:
- original by stating the objectives and gap clearly
- methodologically sound
- results/findings which are clearly presented and support the conclusions
- Correctly references previous relevant work
Decision
The editor has the final right to decide which manuscript can be published in this journal. The editor will decide on the manuscript based on the reviewer's recommendation; accept it as is, require minor or major revisions, or reject it. One manuscript can be rejected due to various considerations, including fundamental methodological errors, or the author does not improve the manuscript according to reviewer suggestions without a logical basis.
Galley proof
A galley proof is sent to the corresponding author. Galley proof should be verified against the manuscript, and appropriate corrections should be made within the stipulated time. Substantial changes in a manuscript after typesetting require editorial approval, and, in some cases, the manuscript may be subject to re-reviewing.
