About the Journal

Jurnal Proteksi Tanaman (Journal of Plant Protection) or JPT is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published biannually (June and December) by the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Andalas, Indonesia.

The journal is dedicated to advancing sustainable plant protection through science-based research. We foster interdisciplinary studies that develop innovative pest and disease management strategies using ecological, biochemical, biotechnological, and environmentally friendly approaches. Additionally, JPT also supports exploration of pests, pathogens and beneficial organisms, as well as the interactions that occur within agricultural systems. As a scientific platform, JPT aims to provide innovative solutions that enhance plant resilience while promoting responsible and sustainable pest and pathogen management. We aspire to be an inspiring space for researchers, academics, and practitioners to share discoveries that support healthier and more sustainable agriculture.

JPT publishes original research articles, literature reviews, and short communications. The scope includes: plant pest and pathogen, pest and pathogen surveillance technologies, biological control, induced resistance and plant defense physiology, biopesticides and eco-friendly control agents, integrated pest management (IPM) and sustainable strategies, agroecological design and ecosystem-based protection.

By fostering research rooted in scientific rigor and environmental responsibility, JPT supports knowledge exchange about plant protection that enhances the sustainability and resilience of agriculture across diverse agroecosystems.

Currently, JPT is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (SINTA 3) and indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
