About the Journal

Jurnal Proteksi Tanaman (Journal of Plant Protection), abbreviated as JPT, is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published twice a year, in June and December, by the Plant Protection Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Andalas, Indonesia since 2017.

JPT aims to provide scientific solutions that enhance plant resilience while supporting responsible and sustainable pest and pathogen management. The journal serves as a scholarly platform for disseminating original research articles, literature reviews, and short communications that contribute to the advancement of plant protection science and its practical application in agricultural systems. Currently, JPT is accredited at SINTA 3 and indexed in several academic databases and platforms, including DOAJ, and OpenAlex.

The scope of JPT covers several key areas in plant protection. These include studies on plant pests and pathogens, pest and pathogen surveillance technologies,  biological control, induced resistance and plant defense physiology, biopesticides and eco-friendly control agents; integrated pest management (IPM), and agroecological or ecosystem-based plant protection strategies.
